The media was shocked and surprised on Monday when top White House advisor Kellyanne Conway criticized reporters for covering President Donald Trump’s tweets.
During an interview on ABC’s Today, Conway questioned the media’s “obsession with covering everything [President Donald Trump] says on Twitter, and not what he does as president.”
But co-host Craig Melvin was quick to respond to Conway’s claims of the media’s “obsession” with the president’s tweets by pointing out that Twitter is “his preferred method of communication with the American people.”
“That’s not true!” Conway insisted.
“Well, he hasn’t given an interview in three weeks,” Melvin shot back. “So lately it has been his preferred method.”
Contrary to Conway’s comments, White House officials have often said the the president likes to use Twitter because he can connect directly with the American people.
