Hillary Clinton ‘Not Sure” That Bernie Sanders Is Not A Republican

The Democratic race hasn’t gotten as much limelight as the GOP camp, but a heated contest between Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders has since emerged. It is Clinton’s conviction however, that Sanders may be way out of his league in the current campaign.

“He’s a relatively new Democrat,” the former first lady said to Politico. “In fact, I’m not even sure he is one. He’s running as one. So I don’t know quite how to characterize him.”

The senator who regards himself as a socialist democrat, finally announced that he was a Democrat last year as he revealed his plans in the presidential race. In the history of congress, Sanders has spent the longest time, serving as an independent but he also assembles with Democrats and has sat on and led committees for the political party. Significant progressive topics such as economic inequality have taken centre stage during his campaign.

Though numerous Democrats have stood by the senator from Vermont, Clinton joins the handful of important politicians who seem uncertain of Sanders’ devotion to the cause. One such example is Sen. Barbara Boxer who, in February wrote that Sanders ‘’is a Democrat ‘some days’’ on Twitter. Hillary is a progressive EVERY day. Bernie is a Democrat “some days,”  the tweet said.

Sanders however casually brushed the remark off saying, ‘’of course I am a Democrat.’’
