While Donald Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, tries to move past the controversy Trump created when he attacked the Khan family by posting a statement on Facebook saying that Trump “cherishes” the Khan family, a close friend of the Republican presidential nominee tweeted that Mr. Khan is a “Muslim Brotherhood agent helping Hillary.”

Trump’s friend and advisor, Roger Stone, also included a link to a conspiracy theory website that alleges that Khan’s son died before he was able to complete a secret mission.

“Is it likely that Khan’s son was killed before his Islamist mission was accomplished? Only another type of investigation will determine that,” Stone writes. “Do they ever mention how many soldiers have died because of Muslim traitors? Do they ever bring up how many Christians in the US military were killed? Yet the modernists and homosexuals continue to attack Christians.”

Philip Rucker, political correspondent for Washington Post, received a tweet containing the excerpt from Al-Monitor reporter Laura Rozen, who called it “more idiotic even than expected.”
