President Donald Trump was warned Saturday morning by a California Congressman who told the president via twitter that if Trump Tower phones were tapped, then he is “in deep shit.”

Trump caused controversy early Saturday morning when he claimed that former President Barack Obama had his phones tapped before the 2016 election.

“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” Trump tweeted, then added, “Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!”

It seems that Trump’s crazy accusations may be related to a Breitbart article that claims Obama is planning a “silent coup” against Trump’s administration. According to the article, the Justice Department made two separate requests in 2016 from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court for data and communications on a computer server in Trump Tower so it can be monitored for any connections to Russia.

Rep. Ted Lieu commented that Trump may want to start thinking about getting a lawyer.

“Mr. President: If there was a wiretap at Trump Tower, that means a fed judge found probable cause of crime which means you are in deep shit,” Lieu wrote.

“Either @realDonaldTrump is paranoid like Nixon, or judge found probable cause of crime for #wiretap. Either way our President is in trouble,” he wrote.
