Avid Trump supporter Kayleigh McEnany went on CNN recently in an effort to defend the Republican presidential nominee against allegations that he bribed Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying that he wanted to “expose the system,” causing the entire CNN panel to laugh.
During a panel discussion on Erin Burnett’s Out Front, the conversation got bitter when Trump was accused of bribing Bondi with a $25,000 donation to her campaign. The money came from the tax-exempt Donald J. Trump foundation around the same time she decided not to follow up on fraud accusations against one of Trump’s business ventures.
A clip was shown of Trump saying, „I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And you know what? When I need something from them, two years later, three years later, I call them, and they are there for me,” and ““When I call, they kiss my ass.”
McEnany tried to defend the questionable donation in a way that sounded like she agreed to the fact that the former reality start bribed Bondi.
“He’s exposing the system,” she exclaimed, causing everyone on the panel burst into laughter. “That’s the way Washington works. He’s exposing the system and he’s admitting what he does. This was not the case with Attorney General Bondi and it’s very important to point that out and here’s what Donald Trump does!”
