Morning Joe: GOP Health Care Bill Proves That They Are A Country Club With Restrictive Membership For White And Males

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough voiced his disgust of the House Republicans who supported a bill they didn’t even read and voted for it, even though it could possibly leave millions without health care, then joined President Donald Trump tin the Rose Garden to celebrate.

Scarborough, who usually uses his show as a platform to criticize Republican lawmakers, took some time from his show to tweet his opinion of the legislation and why it passed.

The messaging and the morality of the GOP health care bill are deplorable.

Republicans celebrated a bill with beer kegs that 18% of Americans support and most believe strips 24 million citizens of health care.

Scarborough compared the White House party to a “country club with restrictive membership.”

“Obviously, you have to be white and a male to be there,” he said.

He also blasted the Republican lawmakers who passed the doomed bill for the simple purpose of helping the president finally seem like he got a legislative victory.

“You can look at every one of those Republican leaders that were in Donald Trump’s background shot, serving as his stand-up that — basically his stand-ups for a prop — and every single one of those men — I just say men because,” Scarborough said, before Brzezinski jumped in.

“There’s a woman there, but she has her head down, smartly,” Brzezinski said. “She actually has a brain, she knows this is bad.”

“This was about a press conference, but for tens of millions of Americans, many who voted for him, who are struggling to take care of their children, who are struggling to take care of their parents, who are struggling to take care of their grandparents, this really is an issue of life and death,” Scarborough said. “And so many people that voted for this bill voted without reading the bill, voted without having a CBO score and voted without having any idea what impact it would have.”
