MSNBC host Joy Reid blasted Donald Trump backer Alfonso Aguilar when he tried to claim that liberal Democrats colluded with Planned Parenthood to carry out eugenics in black communities.
Describing it as a “smear,” Reid immediately stopped the interview when the executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles tried to defend the Republican presidential nominees retweets from white nationalist Twitter accounts.
“He does control his own Twitter account, and he is retweeting white nationalists,” Reid told Aguilar. “Which, if you’re following them, they’re somehow in the stream of your social media”
“I think I could argue that is a double standard,” Aguilar replied, to which Reid said, “That is not a double standard.”
“Margaret Sanger, let’s talk about Planned Parenthood” Aguilar blurted, with Reid telling him, “You’re mentioning a dead person, gone for many decades.”
Holding up her finger to keep her guest from interrupting her, Reid insisted, “Planned Parenthood is not a eugenicist organization. And I think that is incredibly offensive. Planned Parenthood is a health organization. Good gracious.”
But Aguilar did not stop, saying, “52 percent of all abortions are performed on Latino and African-Americans.”
“Okay, I think that smear on Planned Parenthood cannot go forward and we are not going to continue with that line of questioning,” she said as she shut down the interview.
