When bracing oneself to run for presidency in the United States, one needs to prepare themselves for all sorts of embarrassing and possibly scandalous revelations, otherwise hidden deep in one’s past. However Ted Cruz may not have been ready for the latest piece of news that has been making the rounds. This time around, word is that, though Cruz has made his position against sex toys very clear, he may have been a happy user of them himself.

The Republican presidential candidate recently supported a moratorium on the use of sex toys such as dildos. As things stand, “he helped defend a law criminalizing the sale of dildos.” This stems from the fact that the state of Texas, Cruz’s home turf, passed a law that makes the use of these ‘’obscene’’ devices illegal. It was Cruz’s opinion and held feeling that self – stimulation using a sex toy was un – American.

Speaking in support of the regulation in question, the Cruz camp stated that “any alleged right associated with obscene devices” is not “deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions.” Chances are the office is looking to align their values with what they perceive was what the founding fathers of the United States envisioned when they came up with the Constitution.

This would have been all well and good, had it not been for Craig Mazin. A former freshman roommate of Ted Cruz during their Princeton days seemed to have a different take to the whole issue. He turned the wheel on Cruz, implying that the politician has been exhibiting double standards.

“Ted Cruz thinks people don’t have a right to ‘stimulate their genitals.’ I was his college roommate. This would be a new belief of his,’’ he wrote.
