In as much as Donald Trump has repeatedly promised to ‘’bomb the shit’’ out of ISIS, the way in which he has handled the issue regarding terror and his anti – Muslim message could actually be aiding to perpetuate ISIS’ activities. This was the sentiment passed by a leading American foreign policy authority.

Michael Hayden used to be the chair of the CIA and the NSA. He took some time to sit down with the Guardian as he explained how ‘“the jihadist narrative is that there is undying enmity between Islam and the modern world.”

“When Trump says they all hate us, he’s using their narrative,” Hayden pointed out. “He’s feeding their recruitment video.” To date, the Republican presidential hopeful has suggested that a moratorium on Muslim immigrants and visitors into the U.S. be imposed. This would effectively refuse close to 1.6 billion people access into the United States.

Following the terrorist slaying of 14 people in San Bernadino California, Hayden commented that, “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”

In spite of this, Trump has remained adamant that his policies are based on sound, political practice and that there are no prospects of xenophobic or discriminatory acts influenced by his actions. He also famously defended two supporters of his who assaulted a man of Hispanic origin, calling them ‘’passionate.’’
