Richard Spencer, a well-known white supremacist, insisted Thursday that he felt “very welcome” at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Spencer was rushed by supporters and several reporters when he arrived on Thursday.
According to the neo-Nazi president of National Policy Institute, he felt “very welcome” at the conference.
Richard Spencer, at CPAC: “I feel very welcome here. Nobody’s punching me…yet.”
When Spencer was asked if brown people would be accepted in the alt right, he said that it’s about white nationalism.
Not everyone was happy to see Spencer, however. Even though CPAC organizer Matt Schlapp said he wouldn’t throw Spencer out of the conference, the white nationalist was soon escorted by security out of the building.
According to a tweet by Olivia Nuzzi, security told her that “Richard Spencer doesn’t represent their views and so he can’t be here even though he bought a ticket.”
