In an effort to squash rumors about an upcoming major staff shakeup, White House senior advisor Kellyanne Conway went on Fox News Friday night.
According to Mediaite.com, Conway claims that all the White House leaks about the internal friction between the people in Trump’s administration is natural and shows that President Donald Trump avoids “yes men,” and instead values a “diversity of opinions.”
Conway insists that Trump’s critics are focusing on the fighting “to distract from the success he’s had this week,” such as getting Neil Gorsuch appointed to the Supreme Court.
“Donald Trump as a businessman and certainly as president of the United States surrounds himself with a diverse group of people who are brilliant who have different expertise, who have very strong opinions.”
“And this is a man who’s very comfortable receiving different insights and different inputs from people. He’s never surrounded himself with a bunch of ‘yes men’ and that strength and diversity of opinions leads to the president having many different inputs,” Conway continues.
Trump’s administration has yet to fill positions on federal agencies that past administrations had already filled by this point because Trump refuses to hire anyone who criticized him during his presidential campaign.
